The presentation on the Crime Victim Compensation Program gives participants an overview of the Crime Victim Compensation Act, including a discussion of the implementation of the most recent legislative amendments. A detailed explanation of how the Attorney General’s Office fulfills its statutory duty to; investigate and process claims, to determine eligibility for the program, make recommendations to the Court of Claims to award or deny compensation, and to assist claimants in the appeal process.
