Description

This consultation group meets the National Children’s Alliance Standards requirement for the Mental Health Standard I, which mandates professional supervision for all clinicians providing treatment to children.

Who Can Attend:  Therapists affiliated with member CAC’s either through employment or linkage agreements.

What to Expect:  Clinical Consultation is a form of professional development which helps therapists continue to grow, learn, and adapt to challenges emerging in their practices. It is a collaborative, voluntary model, facilitated by an experienced therapist, but it also provides a setting in which peers can share ideas, and offer support and feedback to one another.

Format:  A video-conference technology readily accessible through a stable internet connection.

Facilitator: Sharon Klingman is a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who has been working in the mental health field since 1984. Her experience includes working inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and  mental health as a provider and administrator. For the past 20 years she has also served as outpatient senior therapist for the McLean County Children’s Advocacy Center in Bloomington , IL. Sharon is newly retired from the CAC and currently working at Carle Healthcare in outpatient Behavioral Health. Sharon is certified in TF-CBT but is open to and uses many styles of therapy with child victims and  NOC’s depending on the individual situation and needs. Her goal as clinical supervisor is to create a safe space for clinicians to share their experiences and grow as therapists from honest and open feedback from all group members, herself included.

Documentation:  Certificates will be provided after each session for proof of attendance. A follow up email will be sent to those in attendance with a confidentially conscious recap of the meeting, and relevant resources.

Cost and Sign Up:   This program is free and is supported by the NCA statewide program funds.
